FAQS

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Loulou's Cookies & Confections is a registered Minnesota Cottage Food Producer.  I do all baking in my home kitchen located in southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota.

HOW DO I SUBMIT AN ORDER AND PAY FOR MY COOKIES?

You can contact me to inquire about ordering using the contact form on this website. I accept credit card, Venmo, and cash.  Payment is due in full prior to picking up your order to ensure your cookies are made.  Custom cookies require time to design according to your theme and source cutters and materials before I even begin baking and decorating.  Your payment reserves your pick-up date, as well.  Please adhere to this policy to ensure your order is created.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO ORDER?

Orders should be placed a minimum of 3 weeks before your pick-up date to get started on a custom design for your theme and order any cutters and materials needed to create your vision.  (4-6 weeks is preferred.)  While I typically don't accommodate last minute orders, I will consider and make my best effort to fulfill them if time in my schedule allows.  Please be advised that rush orders within 14 days of the pick-up date will be charged a rush fee of $30.

DO YOU DELIVER?

I do not offer delivery at this time.  I need all the time I can get to focus on creating these sweet treats for customers!

DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING?

Sorry, but shipping is not available under Minnesota Cottage Food Laws.  Orders placed are for pick-up only.

HOW DO I STORE MY COOKIES?

Cookies will be individually packed and heat-sealed to maintain freshness.  Cookies will stay fresh at room temperature in their sealed package for up to 2 weeks.  I do not recommend refrigerating your cookies.  If you do not plan to devour them within the first week, I recommend freezing them to maintain freshness.  See 'How do I freeze my cookies?'

HOW DO I FREEZE MY COOKIES?

Place packaged cookies in an air-tight container where they will stay fresh for up to 2 months.  Take the container out of the freezer the night before you plan to eat them and let the container sit unopened overnight to thaw cookies.  Do NOT open the container until cookies are thawed completely, as condensation will ruin your delicious cookies!

HOW DO I STORE DOG BISCUITS?

Biscuits should be stored in their resealable bag in the refrigerator where they will maintain freshness for up to 2 months, or you can freeze them for up to 8 months.

PRICING

Pricing for cookies is reflective of the time spent designing, baking, color mixing, decorating, and packaging your delicious cookies.  Prices are also dictated by the cost of ingredients, materials, and total time invested in creating your order.  As such, prices are subject to change.  Due to the custom work required for each cookie, I am unable to offer discounts, regardless of quantity ordered.

DO YOU ALLOW CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS?

No refunds will be allowed for orders already created.  No exceptions!  I am not responsible for cookies damaged after pick-up.  Cookies will be packaged and boxed carefully, so please take care to ensure your cookies arrive home unharmed.  You may cancel or change an order within 14 days of your scheduled pick-up date.  For holiday pre-sales and pop-up orders: If your order is not picked up at the designated time, your cookies will be subject to resale within 24 hours unless prior arrangements have been made.

DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN-FREE COOKIES?

Why yes! Yes, I do. While my kitchen is not gluten-free, I clean and sanitize my kitchen and all of my equipment before baking gluten-free cookies to minimize risk of contamination with wheat flour. Due to the increased cost of gluten-free ingredients, there will be an additional $5 charge per dozen cookies.

Baked goods and made in a home kitchen operating under Minnesota Cottage Food Laws and are not subject to state inspection.  Kitchen is NOT peanut-free.  Potential allergens: wheat, dairy, eggs, soy.
